Job Description

Position Overview: Cleaning resident apartments and guest apartments as requested and scheduling through the work order system and assist with common area housekeeping.   Cleaning of equipment such as power washing wheel chairs from HRC department.  Responsible for receiving and distribution of supplies for various HFV departments.  Assists with moving donations made to the Treasure Sale.  Assists with moving furniture and other items throughout the HFV campus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Clean all bathrooms including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories, and fixtures in apartment and common areas.
  2. Vacuum carpeted areas and mop tile floors.
  3. Spot clean walls and windows.
  4. Dust furniture and empty trashcans.
  5. Clean baseboards, pictures, lights, and HVAC vents.
  6. Honor any additional housekeeping request made by the residents during the allotted time.
  7. Guest room cleaning and linen washing after visitor overnight stays in guest apartments.
  8. Assist with activity room set-ups, will require movement of furniture.
  9. Report any pertinent information to management directly related to the well-being of the resident.
  10. Perform any additional housekeeping tasks as necessary.
  11. Receive incoming orders accurately.
  12. Match paperwork, i.e., invoices and packing slips to purchase orders.
  13. Pick-up and delivery of supplies as needed to various departments.
  14. Review donations from apartments and deliver the donations to the Treasure Sale rooms.
  15. Handle and distribute all inbound UPS and FedEx packages.
  16. Additionally, perform any duty requested by Management to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Community.

General knowledge of housekeeping. Ability to use all required equipment.  Must have excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, and must be able to motivate staff.  Ability to operate all required equipment.

Education and/or Experience:  Housekeeping experience preferred.  Experience using hand trucks and appliance carts to move furniture across campus.  Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Ability to lift 50 pounds, over 50 pounds must use the aid of a hand truck or get assistance, and move light furniture. Ability to stand on one’s feet for a long period of time, squatting, bending, overhead work, and extensive walking.  Ability to push/pull a housekeeping cart, mop and bucket, vacuum, use of floor equipment, climbing ladder to 6/8 feet.
