Job Description

Position Overview:

  • Responsible for participating in, developing and meeting the community’s sales and occupancy levels in accordance with the marketing plan.
  • Develops positive relationships with the discharge planners, physicians, families, senior living providers, home health agencies and other healthcare providers, marketing The Springs programs and services.
  • Actively communicates with prospective residents/guests, family members, and key influencers (physician, attorney, trust officer, as appropriate) to generate sales activity required to meet sales goals. This includes frequent personal contact including but not limited to telephone calls, home or office visits, letters and tours.
  • Keeps updated about relevant, operational, competitive, and company information, in order to respond effectively to inquiries from contacts and convey community message.
  • Assesses potential residents/guests, reviewing their medical records, and determines whether they should be admitted for care in collaboration with physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, case managers and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Educates potential residents/guests, family members, referral sources, and external payers regarding the effective and efficient utilization of program services and available resources.
  • Coordinating with other staff members to ensure a smooth discharge process.
  • Communicates The Springs admission criteria and obtains payer type information such as Medicare, Managed Care and Private Pay.
  • Obtains medication and treatment information and the potential resident’s/guest’s health care needs.
  • Ensures that clinical admission records are obtained accurately from other healthcare facilities.
  • Transmits information relating to the prospective resident/guest to the Admissions Coordinator.
  • Participates as needed in the development of annual market plans, competitive analysis, and planning of marketing events.
  • Participates in the coordination of direct mail pieces and print advertising as appropriate.
  • Keeps updated about relevant, operational, competitive, and company information, in order to respond effectively to inquiries from contacts and convey community message.
  • Adheres to LCS marketing guidelines.
  • Assists with the preparation of sales and occupancy reports, and other reports as requested.

To Qualify for this Position:

  • Minimum of Associates degree in nursing, physical, occupational or speech therapy, or other health related field preferred, or equivalent of experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in sales/admissions position within a skilled nursing environment required.
  • Knowledge of nursing regulations governing long-term care.
  • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to assess and treat human injuries and diseases. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.
  • Knowledge of customer service and sales techniques, principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of and special sensitivity to the needs of the aging.
  • Excellent skill in communicating effectively in small and large groups and via the telephone.
  • Skill in forming interpersonal relationships.
  • Skill in thinking creatively, problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to change tactics and strategies to meet the unique needs of each prospect.
  • Ability to generate a warm, friendly and caring manner on first impression.
  • Ability to function independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing using the English language.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to guidelines related to the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations in all aspects of the job including sales presentations and marketing materials.
