The Wellness Activity Coordinator II is responsible for creating engaging programs for residents by connecting and networking with outside resources.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing single and series event programs that appeal to residents with diverse backgrounds
- Assess and modify existing programs to ensure resident’s needs are met
- Support and participate in physical wellness programming
- Recruit and schedule qualified instructors to provide a variety of wellness programming
- Provide organizational coordination and support for all activities and events.
- Track participation in programming and events to ensure appropriate programming is offered
- Create flyers and write articles for community bulletins, newsletters, resident portal and all communication resources for programs, events, activities and services.
- Present and discuss upcoming programs, events, activities and services on HFV’s closed-circuit community television to increase programming awareness.
- Assist with maintaining “Calendar Central,” the monthly activity calendar distributed to residents and staff.
- Respond to resident phone calls and emails within 24 hours of receipt.
- Lead or coordinate planned and ad hoc projects, including the biennial resident satisfaction survey, resident handbook updating and distribution, and all other assigned projects.
- Participate, lead or coordinate group projects and planning, including multidisciplinary committees of staff from other departments, as well as within committee and planning groups of the Resident Life department.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Studies, Education, Humanities, Integrative Studies, Communications, Gerontology, Psychology or Counseling preferred.
- Must have a desire to continue to enhance skills through ongoing education (such as in- service leadership training).
- Minimum 3 years’ service-related experience a Plus (i.e., volunteer and or public service).
- Experience with the senior population a Plus.
- Experience, passion or a desire for health and fitness instruction a Plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High level of organizational skills to plan and coordinate multiple projects, presentations, events, and activities concurrently.
- High level of interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work within a budget.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Tools
- Must be highly organized with strong communication skills
- Must be comfortable working within a team environment
Ability to read, write and speak in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, climb and reach as well as lift, push and pull items weighing 30 pounds or less.

- In this position, you may be the only employee present to set up for an event. Thus, you will need to be able to work alone to set up tables, chairs, etc.
